Fence project financing, explained.
Plan your fence, gate, or wall project with a clear estimate—and explore monthly payment options through Hearth when you’re ready.

A clear project plan comes first.
A fence project can involve more than new panels. Removal, gate openings, changes in grade, access, and the condition of existing posts can all affect the work. Before deciding how to pay, it helps to know what your estimate includes and which improvements matter most to you.
Empire Fence offers access to financing options through Hearth. You can request a free project estimate, explore available offers, and decide whether financing fits your plans. Financing is optional and is subject to lender approval and terms.
The financing button opens Hearth in a new tab. Checking options is separate from requesting an Empire Fence estimate.
How financing through Hearth works
Empire Fence plans and completes your installation. Hearth provides a platform for exploring financing through lending partners. The lender determines approval and the terms of any loan; Empire Fence does not make those decisions.
Get the project scope in writing
Start with the property, the purpose of the fence, and the work you want completed. Review the proposed material, height, length, gate layout, removal work, and any exclusions. Ask questions before treating an estimated project total as your borrowing target.
Check available options through Hearth
Use Empire Fence’s Hearth link to begin the initial process. Hearth says checking initial options uses a soft credit inquiry. Enter financial information only through Hearth’s secure process or the lender’s application.
Compare the full offer
Look beyond the monthly payment. Review the annual percentage rate, fees, term, total repayment, and any conditions. Consider whether the payment fits alongside your existing expenses and whether the overall cost is acceptable to you.
Complete the lender’s requirements
If you choose to proceed, follow the lender’s instructions for verification and final approval. Confirm the approved amount and funding details before relying on the loan to pay for construction.
Coordinate the installation
Return to Empire Fence to confirm the written scope, payment arrangements, and scheduling. Financing approval does not replace the installation agreement or any property-specific permit and approval requirements.
Build a budget around the actual work
Two fences with the same length can have different installation costs. A straightforward run on accessible, level ground is different from a boundary with old concrete footings, tight access, multiple gates, or changes in elevation. A useful estimate makes those differences visible.
Fence installation and replacement
For vinyl, wood, chain link, and other fence materials, clarify the proposed height, finish, posts, hardware, and removal of existing fencing. Confirm whether disposal and site cleanup are included. Material selection should match the privacy, security, appearance, and maintenance you want.
Gates and access
A gate is a working part of the property. Its width, swing, support posts, hardware, and ground clearance deserve attention in the estimate. Discuss pedestrian access, driveway use, and equipment access early so the opening suits daily use.
Cinderblock walls and combined projects
A cinderblock wall may involve foundation planning, reinforcement, finishes, and connections to gates or existing boundaries. Ask which site investigations, design requirements, permits, and related work are included or excluded. Combining a wall and fence in one plan can make the scope clearer, but financing eligibility remains a separate lender decision.
Repairs versus a complete replacement
If the existing fence is partly sound, ask whether targeted repairs can solve the immediate problem. Compare that scope with replacement before choosing a larger project. Financing availability should not be the reason to buy work your property does not need.
Questions to settle before choosing a loan amount
- What work is included, and what remains the homeowner’s responsibility?
- Are removal, disposal, gates, and finishing details included?
- Could site conditions require a written change to the estimate?
- Are permits, surveys, or engineering needed, and who handles them?
- How much will you contribute from your own funds?
- When are project payments due under the installation agreement?
What to compare before accepting an offer
A smaller monthly payment can be appealing, but it does not tell you the total borrowing cost. Read each offer as a whole and use the final lender documents to confirm what you would owe.
- Annual percentage rate (APR)
- Use the disclosed APR when comparing borrowing costs, and check which charges it reflects. Do not assume an advertised starting rate is the rate available to you.
- Repayment term
- Check how long payments continue. Spreading repayment over more months can reduce each payment while increasing the total interest paid.
- Fees and amount received
- Review origination fees and any other charges. Ask whether fees are deducted from the funds you receive, since that can affect how much is available for your project.
- Total repayment
- Look at the total amount paid over the full term, including interest and applicable fees. Compare that figure with the amount you are borrowing.
- Payment conditions
- Confirm due dates, late-payment charges, any automatic-payment conditions, and whether early repayment carries a penalty. Ask the lender to explain anything unclear.
- Promotional terms
- If an offer includes a promotional period, read what happens when it ends and which conditions apply. Do not treat a promotion as a permanent rate.
You can also compare offers available through Hearth with other payment options available to you. There is no need to select a loan simply because you have checked your options.
Fence financing questions
Will checking financing options affect my credit score?
Hearth describes its initial prequalification process as a soft credit inquiry that does not affect your credit score. Moving forward with a lender to finalize a loan can involve a hard inquiry. Review the lender’s disclosures before authorizing that step.
Is prequalification the same as approval?
No. Initial options are not a promise of funding. A lender may need to verify your identity, income, or other application details before making a final decision. Use the lender’s final documents to confirm the approved amount and repayment terms.
Can I get a project estimate before exploring financing?
Yes. Requesting an estimate is a useful first step because it gives you a project amount to work with. Share the property address, approximate fence length, preferred material, gate requirements, and photos so we can discuss the scope.
What rate or monthly payment will I receive?
Your actual offer depends on the lender and your qualifications. We do not quote a universal interest rate or monthly payment. Any calculator result is an illustration, not an approval or a binding offer; compare it with the lender’s final disclosure.
Can I finance only part of the project?
If you plan to contribute some of your own funds, discuss the project payment arrangements with Empire Fence and check the lender’s available loan amounts. The amount you request should reflect your intended contribution and any lender fees, rather than automatically matching the full estimate.
Can financing cover a gate or cinderblock wall?
Tell us which work you want included in the estimate, whether that is a new fence, a gate, a cinderblock wall, or a combination. Confirm the permitted use of loan proceeds with the lender. A project estimate does not establish financing eligibility.
How quickly can installation begin?
Financing and installation follow separate schedules. Before committing to a start date, confirm funding, the agreed project scope, material availability, and any required approvals with the appropriate parties. Checking financing options does not reserve a construction date.
Who handles my loan payments?
Your repayment agreement is with the lender identified in your loan documents. Contact that lender about due dates, payment methods, account changes, or repayment questions. Empire Fence handles your installation project.
What if I do not receive a suitable offer?
You do not need to choose an offer that does not work for you. Ask us whether a different material, a smaller scope, or separate project phases could meet your needs. Any revised work should have its own clear estimate.
Where should I submit financial information?
Follow the secure Hearth and lender application process. Our estimate form is for project details and contact information. Please do not enter Social Security numbers, banking details, or income documents into that form.
Get the estimate. Review your options.
If you are still deciding on the material or scope, start with Empire Fence. If you already have a project amount in mind, you can explore Hearth’s available options and review the terms at your own pace.
